Everwaste MRF

Cookie Policy

The cookies this website uses, what they do, how long they last and how to change your choices.

1. About this policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on everwaste-mrf.co.uk, run by Everwaste MRF Ltd (company no. 16737262). It sits alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

1.1 Our approach. We only use cookies the website needs to work, and analytics cookies if you agree to them. We don't use advertising or social media tracking cookies.

2. What cookies are

2.1 Cookies. Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as your cookie choices or where you are in a booking.

2.2 Local storage. Local storage works in a similar way, but the information stays in your browser and isn't sent back to the website with each page.

2.3 Types of cookie. Necessary cookies make the site work and keep it secure, so they don't need your consent. Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used, so we only set them if you agree.

3. Cookies we use

3.1 Necessary cookies. These are always on:

  • cookiez-user-consent (Everwaste MRF): remembers your cookie choices and a record of when you made them. Lasts up to 12 months, then we ask again.
  • mpa_session (Everwaste MRF): keeps your booking details together while you choose a slot. Deleted when your session ends.
  • wordpress_test_cookie (Everwaste MRF): checks that your browser accepts cookies. Deleted when you close your browser.

3.2 Analytics cookies. These are only set if you accept analytics in our cookie banner:

  • _ga (Google Analytics): tells visits apart so we can count visitors. Lasts 2 years.
  • _ga_ followed by our site ID (Google Analytics): remembers the state of your visit. Lasts 2 years.

Google Analytics shows us how many people visit, which pages they use and how they found us. We don't use it to identify you. Google's privacy policy explains how Google uses this information.

3.3 Payments. When you pay your £20 deposit, Square's secure payment form loads on the booking page. Square may set its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. These are necessary to take your payment. Square's privacy notice explains how it handles them.

3.4 Staff cookies. Our team sets extra cookies when they log in to manage the website, including security cookies from our firewall, Wordfence. These aren't set for visitors.

4. Other storage

4.1 Accessibility settings. If you use the accessibility button to change how the site looks, such as text size or contrast, your choices are saved in your browser's local storage so they stay the same on each page. They aren't sent to us, and you can clear them at any time.

4.2 Links to other sites. Our "Get directions" links open Google Maps on Google's own website, and links to other Everwaste Group companies open their websites. Those sites have their own cookie policies.

5. Your choices

5.1 Our cookie banner. When you first visit, our banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. You can accept or decline them, and the site works the same either way.

5.2 Changing your mind. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

5.3 Your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as booking, may not work.

5.4 Google Analytics opt-out. You can stop Google Analytics on every website by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.

6. Changes and contact

6.1 Changes. We'll update this policy if the cookies we use change. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.

6.2 Contact. If you have questions about cookies or your personal information, email [email protected] or call 01257 826800, Monday to Friday 9am–4pm.
